On November 12 and 13, 2016, Sacred Heart Encounter was held at the Azcapotzalco Primary School in Mexico City, with the central theme "The Heart of Jesus calls us today to live in Mercy ". To the event participated around 120 people, including lay people from different parishes, locations, groups of Lay Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, and sisters of the different Institutes dedicated to the Heart of Jesus, including religious of our Congregation. We reflect on the following themes:

  1. "Analysis of reality", by Lic. Rubén Aguilar Valenzuela. Reflection work was done by teams about some points taken from the last documents of the Church.
  2. "Illumination with the theme of the Beatitudes", by the R.P. Julio Arieta, SJ., Gave an illumination to this reality with the beautiful text of the Beatitudes.
  3. "Pastoral Value of the Spirituality of the Sacred Heart of Jesus", by the R.P. Manuel de Jesus Castellanos, MSC.

The different groups of laity and sisters met by the congregation to give proposals for solutions to the challenges we have encountered in this reflection and how from our charisma and spirituality we can bring something new to society. Then all together created a common proposal based on very good contributions from the teams, and finally, we ask the Good Lord grant us to bring them to fruition.

The STATUTES of the INECJ, which includes an annex of the MANUAL OF GUIDELINES FOR THE PASTORAL SERVICE OF THE LAY FAITHFUL OF THE INECJ, were also presented to the Congregations and lay groups. Mr. Agustín made the presentation of this article since he and his wife Anita were preparing this document with the advice of the PR José Guadalupe Barragán and the coordinating team of the INECJ.

The event was motivating the Raíces Trova Group.

The team of the INECJ (National Institute of Spirituality of the Heart of Jesus) was in charge of the meeting.
