GENERAL GOVERNMENT OF THE MSCGPE
Background
Since the founding of the Congregation in 1926, the leader and spiritual guide of the work was the Servant of God Maria Amada, as it happens in all foundations. But it was not until 1931, when she and the first sisters who followed her project, made community life in the city of Puebla, having her as Superior and formator; after this first one-year experience, they settled in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City.
Mother Maria Amada, although she was the founder and superior, did not act arbitrarily; In order to make important decisions about the journey of the Work, in addition to praying a lot, he always tried to rely, not only on expert and good-spirited priests (such as the Jesuits and Marists), but also on the sisters of the community, who like docile disciples, they were forming and identifying with the "Work of the Heart of Jesus", as the Servant of God called the Congregation. And it was from 1939, in the celebration of the first General Chapter, when the Mother was elected, unanimously, as Superior General; in the same way as a team of Councilors, with whom I would count to guide the Congregation; but this act did not have official or canonical validity, since it did not yet have ecclesiastical approval.
Succession of General Governments
In 1947 we received Diocesan Approval as a religious Congregation, with which it was confirmed that she was the Founder and Superior, and as such was designated to continue leading the Work. At the sixth year, the first General Chapter was held, with a canonical character, from December 22, 1953 to January 13, 1954, in which the following General Government team was elected:
