The Consecrated Life driven by the Holy Spirit, who is the Author of every movement of conversion and search for holiness, is historically in an important stage change, in which we are trying to put into practice Jesus' exhortation: “New wine into new wineskins.”

In this ecclesial context, the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Saint Mary of Guadalupe have been living, for more than three years, a process of resignification and restructuring of our consecrated life and our mission in the light of our charism, to respond better to the current reality of the Church and the world that present us with new challenges.

This process is a path of conversion in which, with the grace of God, we are advancing step by step in response to the call that the Heart of Jesus is making to us since the celebration of our XIII Ordinary General Chapter in 2017 : Transformed in my Heart lead new life!

In this context in the month of July 2019, we held a congregational assembly at the facilities of the General House located in the Azcapotzalco County in Mexico City, in which, we live as sisters, we share experiences, and we strengthen our human, spiritual and apostolic formation; and, finally, we take agreements to follow up to the 2017-2020 Sexennial Plan during this new school year.

This assembly was attended by the majority of the sisters representing all the communities, which are located in 14 locations of the Mexican Republic and five other countries: Honduras, Belize, Colombia, United States, Spain and Italy.

During these working days, we deepen in different aspects with the support of valuable specialists, both priests and laity; and thanks to the enthusiasm and responsibility of the sisters in the specific commissions for each day, as well as in the wealth of personal contributions and the reflection teams.

Some of the topics we addressed were:

• “Restructuring and resignification of our life”

• “Change without losing our face”,

• “Ascesis and repair”

• “Our walk with the laity”

• “Training in the use of the communication media”

We wish and pray that the common effort in the realization of this assembly will be reflected in important changes for the good of the mission that God has entrusted to us in the places where we are, trying to serve our brothers with a new heart.

We ask the support of the prayer of all our relatives, friends and other acquaintances so that we know how to live this process of change that God is asking of us.
